Embankment collapses in Nonthaburi, prompting warning

Non-THALOURI: Residents of the Bang Kruai area have been warned never to approach a part of an slope that has collapsed along the Chao Phraya River.

Nonthaburi Anusorn Kaewwichain, the MP for Move Forward Party, issued a warning on Sunday to residents of the fell area, which was about 70 meters long and was near the sluicegate at the lips of the Bang Kruai river, which is near the Chao Phraya River.

He claimed that the Royal Irrigation Department was informed of the decline on Saturday evening around 8pm and that nearby residents had been keeping an eye on it.

About ten years ago, the Chao Praya River was overflowing and dredging pieces of Nonthaburi and Bangkok.

Prior to this, Mr. Anusorn claimed that sand had been dumped behind the leak and that previous liquid from the Chao Phraya River had flowed through the middle of the slope into Bang Kruai area.

He warned against approaching the embankment’s collapsed part because there was a subsidence it.
