The Office of Election Commission (EC ) is investigating alleged rigging of new senators ‘ elections, and is asking potential candidates to refrain from registering with a potentially illegal website.

The EC said in a speech that encouraging people to form groups to run for the Senate election might be against the electoral laws. So, an investigation into alleged breaches has been launched, it said.

The EC even warned potential prospects against posting political views and private information on websites, including social media sites.
