SINGAPORE: A man was arrested for a week on Tuesday( Sep 19 ) after becoming irate with the traffic jams along the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway( KPE ) for throwing his metal jar lid in the direction of the cars in front of him.
The driver paid S$ 581( US$ 425 ) in inspection after the door crashed into the rear windshield of the vehicle in front of him.
Low Wing Soon Vincent, 64, admitted guilt to one count of recklessly endangering other people’s health. In the imprisonment, a second command of evil was taken into account.
On March 24, this year, the court learned that Low was traveling along the KPE in the direction of the East Coast Parkway( ECP ) at 2.20 p.m. He was traveling down the third driveway with the intention of leaving for ECP.
The two loss roads leading to ECP were in a traffic hole at the time. Low decided to throw the copper pot lid he had discovered in his vehicle after becoming irritated with the jam.
He rolled down his glass, extended his arm, and threw the door in the direction of the cars in front of him.
The vehicle in front of him, which was being driven by a 40-year-old man, had its back windscreen struck by the lid. Despite hearing a loud noise, the sufferer did not pause to investigate.
Low threw the door, filtered out of his street, and sped off in his car.
Later, the sufferer double-checked the images from his in-car camera, which revealed Low’s extended hand as well as the cover before it hit the windscreen.
Low was found after he filed a police statement. The attorney claimed that despite his full restitution to the sufferer, the cover was never found.
He requested a brief prison sentence, deferring to the court the length of the sentence. He claimed Low had previously been found guilty of reckless behavior and drunk driving.
In one of the previous convictions, the prosecutor claimed that the man shoplifted, became aggressive when caught, and next” threw the store item about.”
He claimed that because the crime was committed in this instance on a busy street, there was significant potential damage.
The door might have hurt other cars or, worse yet, struck a passing motorcycle.
” There was no justification at all for him to act as he did. Most drivers experience traffic congestion on a daily basis, so like-minded offenders may get discouraged from venting their frustrations in this way, according to the attorney.
Low, who was not named, responded,” I did throw( the lid ) on the spur of the moment because of a bad day.” And I sincerely regretted it.
He had the option of serving up to six months in prison, receiving a fine of Sulphur$ 2, 500, or both for an impulsive action that put his life in danger.
