The Ministry of Manpower ( MOM) announced on Wednesday ( Jun 19 ) that it was looking into a fatal workplace accident in which a diver died after getting entangled with a boat propeller.  ,
The affair took place , at about 2.10pm on Tuesday at the northeast anchor, along Marina South Pier.  ,
A 22-year-old Malaysian employee was cleaning a ship’s deck when he got tangled with one of the shafts of the supporting dive boat, the department said in response to CNA inquiries.  ,
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that it received , a call for assistance at about 2.15pm.
The employer was then transported to Singapore General Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.  ,
In a split speech, the authorities said based on initial studies, no foul play is suspected and that investigations are ongoing.  ,
As a general safety measure, MOM pointed out that all established commercial diving standards must be followed, including surface-supplied diving equipment and commercial self-contained underwater breathing apparatus ( CSCUBA ).
“ These tools and tools facilitate coordination and connection between fishermen and bosses during activities.“ Commercial diving activities should not be conducted on outdoor SCUBA.
