Crane at PUB worksite topples and crushes van in Sengkang; driver taken to hospital

SINGAPORE: A van driver was taken to hospital after a crane at a PUB worksite&nbsp, in Sengkang&nbsp, toppled and crushed his vehicle on Tuesday ( Apr 9 ).

Around 4.55 p.m., the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received an alert about the collision between Punggol Road and Compassvale Street.

The cranes toppled onto the stable van next to it, according to the police, as the crane’s operator was loading it onto a trailer truck.

The federal water agency responded to CNA’s comment by saying that the cranes was operating at a PUB site where a new public sewage is being constructed. &nbsp,

The 28-year-old bus driver suffered injuries in the affair, and he was taken to Sengkang General Hospital for treatment.

The cranes controller, 49, was arrested, the authorities said, adding that investigations are ongoing.

The Police and the Manpower Ministry does work with the incident’s investigation, according to the organization’s statement to CNA.
