On February 7, British pop-rock group Coldplay released their new track Man In The Moon, which centers on Singapore. The film featured the state’s landscapes and individuals.  ,
Coldplay, made up of group companions Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Will Champion, filmed the music videos during their halt in Singapore for their Song of the Spheres World Tour in January 2024, where they performed six sold-out displays at the National Stadium.  ,
Two actresses who get to know each other and fall in love are just two of the characters in the music video, which was shot by producer Ben Mor.
CNA Lifestyle spoke with the two actors who played the cosplayers: Singaporean-Filipino scholar and cosplayer, Ysabella Banta, 21, whose dress name is Venus, and Singaporean-British type Akihiko Turner, 26.  ,
In the movie, they were , dressed as actions role-playing activity Genshin Impact figures Yae Miko and Zhongli, both.  ,
Banta and Turner explained to CNA Life how they secured their jobs and provided some inside-the-scenes information about their three action-packed weeks of shooting.  ,
ATTENDING THE “SECRET GIG”
It appeared as though the co-stars ‘ success came from knowing the right people at the right time.
A friend of a video production company she had previously worked with approached Banta, who has been cosplaying since 2017, with the opportunity to interview for a music video for a” British stone band.” The company was looking for young talents who were involved in subgroups or had special interests.
” I was a bit curious, because ( the term ) ‘ British rock band’ was oddly specific”, Banta said. ” And this occurred in January 2024. Coldplay was the only European stone group I knew in Singapore.
First, Banta rejected the offer as she was swamped with college work. But finally, after her friends convinced her that it was a once in a lifetime chance, she agreed to interview.  ,
” It was very paiseh , (embarassing )”, Banta said, laughing. ” Because you reject the offer, then after that you go,’ Hey, is it still attainable?’
” So I really went for the interview online, met the chairman, and one or two days later, I got the call again, and I was … I was really shocked,” she said.  ,
A colleague of a companion also reached out to Turner after learning that he was a freelance model.
Turner said:” The companion told me’ I’ve got a job, but you can’t show anybody about it. You’re going to have to party in the studio, but I want you to travel down to try it out. ‘”  ,
The concept claimed that he had no notion who or what the job was about at the time.  ,
He claimed at the interview that the team had him enter a room, that the rock band The Killers had blasted Mr. Brightside, and that they had asked him to dance. He admitted that” it was the most unpleasant thing actually”.  ,
Although Turner was initially cast as an excess in the film, director Ben Mor had other ideas and wanted to meet him directly.  ,
When Turner learned that he was preparing for the Coldplay auditions.  ,
” I changed from being a little extra to being very prominent in the picture.” That was quite a surprise for me, “he said.  ,
Because they’ve both been listening to Coldplay since they were younger, both Banta and Turner said they were over excited about the opportunity.  ,
For Turner, particularly his parents, who frequently performed Coldplay songs while he was driving to college, he was a huge fan.  , Turner and his family had also just seen the group reside in Singapore to honor his father’s day.  ,
Banta, also, was a lover.  ”, I would subscribe to their music on the television. Paradise was one of my all-time favorite songs, and I can still recall hearing it in elementary school and dancing along to it. And never would I had known that I would be creating a music video for them in the future. It’s mad,” she said.  ,
