BMA to set up film-makers coordination centre
Chadchart Sittipunt, the government of Bangkok.

According to Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration will establish a center to arrange with international and local film-makers in accordance with the government’s policy to promote Thailand through” sweet power.”

Following a Monday city leadership meeting, Mr. Chadchart spoke.

He stated that the meeting had decided to name the center the Bangkok Film-Making Coordination Centre( BFMCC ), and that it would be situated in the Phra Nakhon neighborhood’s building that houses the tourist attraction for the city.

According to Mr. Chadchart, the chairman of the BFMCC, which may offer a one-stop shop for both Thai and international film-makers, may also serve as the department’s director for city culture and tourism.

According to government legislation, the center would work to boost Thailand’s soft authority on the international stage. It was hoped that Thai-produced movies would encourage international visitors.

But, international film producers who want to picture scenes in Thailand must first get the Department of Tourism’s approval. Thai filmmakers could get in touch with the BFMCC instantly, he said.

According to him, they may be given additional conveniences, such as links in state organizations like the Expressway Authority of Thailand and the Royal Thai Police.
