TAT to put North on road to recovery

According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s( TAT ) Chiang Mai business, commerce in the North will pick back up next year with special activities focusing on various business segments expected to draw more than 40 million local customers and create at least 186 billion ringgit.

According to the TAT, Chiang Mai is anticipated to generate 110 billion ringgit in tourism profit next year, putting it on par with the pre-pandemic figure.

The TAT’s senior producer for the North, Pattaraanong Na Chiangmai, stated yesterday at a press conference that Chiange Mai intends to advance” Chiang Mai the Greatest Change” in order to promote sustainable tourism.

More than 34 million domestic visitors are expected to travel to the North this month, an increase of 17 % from 2022, according to TAT.

They are predicted to bring in upwards of 155 billion ringgit in tourism income, an increase of 23 % year over year.

According to Ms. Pattaraanong, the TAT is attempting to promote tourism growth through a number of initiatives centered on the lifestyle theme” Amazing Northern Lifestyle ,” as well as celebrations inspired by northern customs( the Amazing Northern Festival) and travel routes through small towns( The Amazing North Mueang Rong ).

She continued,” In an effort to make tourism more sustainable, the new campaign is guided by a policy based on corporate social responsibility ( CSR ) and the bio-circular-green economy.”

During the press conference, Ms. Pattaraanong and Suladda Sarutilavan, directors of the TAT’s Chiang Mai Office, announced that the area would support sustainable tourism in the coming year by promoting” Chiang Ma the Greatest Modify.”

According to Ms. Suladda, Chiang Mai generated 52.4 billion ringgit in tourism revenue between January and August.

The TAT anticipates that number will accomplish 90 billion baht by the end of this year, or 80 % of the pre-pandemic levels seen in 2019.

She also pointed out that Chiang Mai’s local tourism market has mostly recovered from the pandemic.

When creating the tourism revitalization strategy for the North, the Chiang Mai company will take advantage of Thailand’s soft power based on the so-called” 5F” idea representing foods, festivals, film, clothing, and” suit and company.”

This will go hand in hand with the four main tourism promotion initiatives, including” Amazing Chiang Mai Retreat ,”” Accessing Ching Mai Workation ,” and” Vijitr Viang Ping”( a series of light and sound events ), as well as” Abstinching Mai Road Trip ,” Ms. Suladda added.

A Suvarnabhumi airport baggage screening employee has been fired for failing to research a case that turned out to be filled with smuggled creatures, some of which got free and disrupted travel from Bangkok to Taipei.

The Suvarnabhumi airport’s administration announced on Thursday that a classmate watching an X-ray screening unit had flagged an employee of AOT Aviation Security Co as suspicious, but the employee had not opened the bag.

On Wednesday at around 1.45 p.m., two immigrants carried the case past the X-ray machine. They boarded a Thai VietJet Air aircraft that left that day at 3.32 p.m.

See accounts indicate that problems on board the aircraft started soon after takeoff when a passenger saw rat while going to the bathroom. After searching the aircraft, house employees discovered an otter under a pilot’s seat.

After being bitten on the hand, a female flight attendant managed to catch the mouse and put it in the galley’s field.

The house staff announced and asked anyone who had brought creatures on board to identify themselves. A black tote bag containing additional creatures was discovered under the woman’s desk after she admitted responsibility for the incident.

According to Pakpong Pathong, the airport’s animals inspection chief, Taoyuan International Airport in Taipei officials discovered the bag to contain 20 Cambodian star tortoises, a snake, two otters, prairie dogs, and two dark gigantic squirrels. When the plane landed, no customers claimed it despite the fact that it had been carried into the passenger room.

According to reports, the suspect was being interrogated by Taiwanese police and could receive a fine of up to NT$ 1 million( 1.15 million baht ).

The majority-owned company of Airports of Thailand Plc, which runs Suvarnabhumi aircraft, is AOT Aviation Security Co, the company of the careless bag test.

In order to better protect the environment and person’s health, Bangkok City Council has approved a document area code that calls for the replacement of all fossil fuel-powered public buses with electrical vehicles within seven years.

The document restriction was approved by a vote of 30 in favor with no objections at the second and third observations on Wednesday. It was sponsored by Move Forward Party city council members and approved at its first studying in April.

The Bang Sue district’s Move Forward council, Pattaraporn Kengrungruanchai, urged members to complete the law, which would effectively reduce fine-dust pollution in the money and encourage fresh atmosphere for more than 10 million city dwellers.

She advised Bangkok to seize the chance to lead the change and replace the use of fossil energy by using cleaner power in public transportation cars.

However, Chadchat Sittipunt, the governor of Bangkok, announced that the Code would be reviewed by the Council of State on behalf of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration( BMA ).

He advised the government’s legal counsel to be consulted because the legal affairs department of the BMA was unsure whether City Hall had the authority to enforce the code.

City Hall is prepared to change its own trucks, according to deputy governor of Bangkok Jakkapan Phiewngam, but constitutional issues still need to be resolved. The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority ( BMTA ), which is a division of the Transport Ministry, is in charge of overseeing the buses.

In order to phase out its fleet of fossil fuel buses over the course of three years, the BMTA last season proposed a plan to acquire 3, 200 energy buses.

The Thai Smile Bus ( TSB ) company operates the first 40 electric public buses in the capital, which started running on the new line 2 – 38 that took the place of bus route 8.

PM faces graft complaint for police chief decision

Sereepisuth Temeeyaves, a former police chief, accused Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin and the Police Commission of wrongfully electing Pol Gen Torsak Sukvimol as the new chief in an appeal filed on Thursday with the National Anti-Corruption Commission( NACC ).

Lawyer Ananchai Chaidet, who had earlier promised that there would be a” very great shock” on October 5, was with Pol Gen Sereepisuth, the head of the Seri Ruam Thai Party, one of 11 events in the Pheu Thai-led coalition government.

The complaint accuses Mr. Srettha, the former Police Commission chair, and 10 other users of improperly appointing Pol Gen Torsak Sukvimol in violation of the Police Act’s seniority rule.

On September 27, there were four candidates in the collection process. Among the four contenders, Pol Gen Torsak was third in rank. The others were Pol Gens Roy Ingkapairote, who was the elder, Surachate Hakparn( second-most top ), and Kitrat Phanphet.

Despite being the last in seniority, Pol Gen Torsak was chosen for the best authorities position. The nephew of ACM Satitpong Sukvimol, who joined the army at a comparatively late age of 33 after pursuing different occupations, stood out for his quick ascent through the rates.

The complaint stated that even though Mr. Srettha abstained from voting, he was still accountable because it was him who nominated Pol Gen Torsak.

Since he declared Pol Gen Surachate and eight different police officials accused of being connected to illegal gaming sites, Mr. Ananchai has made headlines.

A” senior person in the state ,” according to the attorney, called him on the phone and asked him and Pol Gen Surachate not to proceed with the situation.

Pol Gen Surachate later consented to back down after earlier claiming that the assault on his house was related to interior police force politics. A moment after Pol Gen Torsak’s session, he went to thank him and clear the air.

But, Mr. Ananchai asserted that he was determined to proceed with the situation and tell the truth as a prosecutor.

Although Mr. Ananchai acknowledged that Pol Gen Surachate had not hired him as his attorney, he claimed to still get along well with the lieutenant law chief. He claimed that he continued to speak on behalf of the other eight soldiers.

He refuted a claim that Pol Gen Surachate had paid him 10 million ringgit. I haven’t gotten a second baht from them, not even the eight officers, the attorney continued.

The Move Forward Party submitted a bill on Thursday, hoping it would restore national single, to grant parole to democratic protesters since February 2006.

The bill, according to party leader Chaithawat Tulathon, was drafted to pardon all democratic protesters who had been charged with violating several laws since February 11, 2006, when Thaksin Shinawatra’s administration was the target of protests.

According to Mr. Chaithawat, the proposed pardon may apply to thousands of democratic protesters who had been penalized for breaking a number of laws because of their political motivations.

According to him,” The Move Forward Party believes that Thai culture is restore peace, joy, and cohesion if the people who participated in political representation are freed from trial.”

Wan Muhamad Noor Matha, the leader of the legislature, was suggested by the opposite party to establish a committee to determine which offenses may be eligible for amnesty.

But, Mr. Chaithawat stated that the bill did not spare government officials who overstepped their bounds or overreacted by cracking down on presentations.

He asserted that the costs may be passed if political parties work together.

Over the past 17 years, there have been numerous violent political protests, beginning with the so-called yellow shirts known as the People’s Alliance for Democracy( PDA ), which opposed Thaksin. In September 2006, his majority government was overthrown as a result of their rallies.

PAD protesters went back to the streets after an election in December 2007 put another Thaksin-affiliated party in power. Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang flights were taken over over the course of a week-long protest that started in May 2008 and is thought to have cost the economy at least 3 billion rmb.

A Democrat-led government took control after the Constitutional Court decided in December 2008 to melt the People’s Power Party. The United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship ( UDD ), or” red shirts loyal to Thaksin ,” violently cracked down the military in May 2010 as a result of massive protests in 2010. 90 people were killed.

The golden tops were again on the streets in 2013 and 2014. Their rage was directed at Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra’s attempt to pass an amnesty bill that would help her nephew who was in exile. The Bangkok Shutdown movement’s outages prepared the way for the military takeover in May 2014.

A fresh protest movement, primarily made up of young people who were dissatisfied with the military-aligned government and the establishment in general, started to take shape in 2020. Some of its members even went so far as to demand changes to the king.

More than 250 individuals have been charged under Section 112 of the Criminal Code, the lesser-majeste laws, since mid-2020 as a result of this. 116 more people have been accused of rebellion.

The amnesty suggested by Move Forward did release both the most recent protesters and their bright and red-shirt forebears from earlier in time.

According to Mr. Chaithawat, the proposed pardon may apply to thousands of democratic protesters who had been penalized for breaking a number of laws because of their political motivations.

The Move Forward Party asserted that if those who participated in social appearance are released from prosecutors, Thai culture is regain peace, happiness, and unification.

Wan Muhamad Noor Matha, the leader of the opposition group, was suggested by the legislature to establish a committee to determine which offenses may be eligible for amnesty.

Because there are so many situations and the timeline is large, we did not specify offenses, according to Mr. Chaithawat.

Nevertheless, he claimed that the costs would not give those involved in insurrection, harming lives, or abusing power during security crackdowns.

He claimed that if social functions work together, the costs may be passed.

According to a Reuters analysis, which includes circumstances that have since been resolved, more than 4, 400 individuals have been charged with offenses relating to social gatherings since 2006.
