Arrest warrants, Interpol notices issued for couple who allegedly failed to deliver luxury watches, bags

SINGAPORE: Detain warrants and Interpol notices have been released against a couple that went missing after allegedly failing to deliver luxury watches and bags, the police stated on Wednesday (Jul 20).

At least 180 reports involving two companies, Tradenation and Tradeluxury, were made to law enforcement from June up to now.

The complainants said they produced advance payments towards the company for high-class watches or luggage, but the companies failed to deliver the products.  

Tradenation was registered as a precious stones and metals dealer on Apr 2, said the particular Ministry of Legislation (MinLaw). Registered dealers are regulated under the Registrar of Regulated Dealers for anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism purposes.

A 26-year-old Singaporean man was arrested on Jun twenty-seven for his thought involvement in the cheating offences, said the particular Singapore Police Force (SPF) in response to CNA’s queries.

His passport was impounded and was released on bail on Jun twenty-eight, pending the completing investigations.

Their 27-year-old wife seemed to be assisting the police along with investigations and surrendered her passport to officers on Jun 30.

They will subsequently became uncontactable, said the SPF.

Last Wednesday, the police arrested the 40-year-old Malaysian guy who allegedly assisted the couple in order to leave Singapore upon Jul 4. This individual was charged 2 days after his detain for abetting someone else to depart Singapore illegally.

SPF said arrest justifies and Interpol crimson notices have been released against the couple.

According to Interpol, reddish notices are issued for fugitives wished either for prosecution in order to serve a sentence. It is a request to law enforcement agencies worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person, pending extradition, surrender or similar legal activity.

“Police work closely with international law enforcement counterparts to trace the couple and the criminal proceeds, ” said SPF.

MinLaw said it offers suspended Tradenation’s sign up due to the ongoing police investigations.

All those found guilty of cheating face an imprisonment term of up to 10 years. If Tradenation is located guilty, MinLaw will take regulatory action with a view to end the company’s registration.
