AirAsia By (AAX), the moderate to long-haul affiliate marketer airline of AirAsia Aviation Group, marks a new era using the appointment of Tunku Mahmood Fawzy (pic) as the new chairman of the board of directors, effective immediately.
In a statement, the organization said Fawzy will succeed Rafidah Aziz, who held the chairman role given that 2013 and lately announced her resignation from the board, efficient 1 July 2022.
It added that Mahmood Fawzy initially became a member of AAX as an 3rd party non-executive director on 27 June 2022.
Following the redesignation, he will focus on driving business growth strategies plus providing robust oversight of the board and senior leadership group, it said.
AAX co-founder and group performing chief executive officer Tony Fernandes said the organization welcomes Mahmood Fawzy as the new leader of the board.
“Mahmood Fawzy brings a wealth of expertise plus extensive board experience including as a chair with a strong 30-year track record in numerous visible international leadership tasks spanning corporate expense, finance and more.
