On Tuesday, Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra expressed confidence that Energy Minister Pirapan Salirathavibhaga’s registration to function as a government minister was thoroughly examined and verified before his interview.
She was responding to a petition that Mr. Pirapan was alleged to be ineligible for the position that the National Anti-Corruption Commission ( NACC ) received on April 23.
The applicant, Sonthiya Sawasdee, a political activist, claims that Mr. Pirapan has been getting paid by the four organizations he used to own shares of despite transferring these securities to a legal entity that manages his goods on his behalf.
Mr. Sonthiya claimed that was in violation of Section 187 of the law, which forbids government officials from holding securities in a private company.
Given Mr. Pichit’s criminal history, the PM dismissed concerns that she might end up facing the same fate as former top Srettha Thavisin, who was removed from office last August after an social violation involving his appointment as cabinet minister.
The Cabinet Secretariat and other organizations checked all proposed appointments before the line-up of this government was submitted for royal support, according to the PM.
Ms. Paetongtarn claimed that she had not spoken with Mr. Pirapan about this as of yet because he had taken a leave of absence from Tuesday’s government meet.
” Mr. Pirapan must be well aware that he would be scrutinized passionately and prepared for that before his appointment as a cabinet minister, after what happened to Mr. Srettha,” said the PM.” There shouldn’t be a concern because he must be well aware that he would be well aware of that.
She refuted rumors that a fresh government would be in place.
