On Tuesday ( Apr 15 ), China’s President Xi Jinping honored Vietnam’s late revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh on his final day of a trip there that President Donald Trump claimed was intended to “screw” the United States.
Beijing is trying to position itself as a reliable alternative to Trump as leaders grapple with US tariffs while Xi is in Vietnam as part of a South Asian trip that includes Malaysia and Cambodia.
According to Beijing’s state media, the Taiwanese leader urged his nation and Vietnam on Monday to “oppose punitive abuse and preserve the balance of the global free trade system.”
Trump later admitted to telling American reporters that their conference was intended to hurt the country.
” China is not my fault. I don’t responsible Vietnam. I don’t. He said,” I see they’re meeting today, which is wonderful.”
” That’s a beautiful meet… like trying to figure out how to lock the United States of America.”
On Monday, China and Vietnam signed 45 assistance agreements, including ones relating to supply chains, artificial intelligence, combined maritime patrols, and railroad development.
At a meeting on Monday, Xi and Vietnam’s leading head To Lam said their states were” standing at the turning point of story… and should move forward with mutual arms.”
Lam claimed after the discussions that the two leaders “reached some important and extensive common perceptions,” as reported by Vietnam News Agency.
