In a gigantic pile at a warehouse in Tuas, hundreds of pairs of donated sandals, sneakers, and other shoes have accumulated.
These boots, which were collected from residents all over the country, were intended to be ground into particles and used in parks and running tracks.  ,
However, job lovers are now having to look for locations that want to use them.
The program, which is a collaboration between Dow Materials Science and National Sport Singapore ( SportSG), aims to recycle 170, 000 pairs of used sports shoes annually.
Overall, more than 400 000 pairs of shoes have been collected. However, only about 70, 000 of them have been converted into 18 tasks, including a jogging trail atop a property.
HAPPY FOR MORE Lovers
The trainers won’t been donated or sold to different places, according to Mr. Paul Fong, region director of Dow Singapore and Malaysia.
” We definitely want to use the shoes rather than throw them away and landfill Semakau Island,” said the group. Therefore, he said,” We hope more functions will come forth and partner us” and that the main goal of the project is to discard the shoes.
