Vietnam and New Zealand enhance cooperation with strategic pact

New Zealand and Vietnam signed a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership late on Wednesday ( Feb 26 ), promising to boost engagement in areas like education and defense, according to a statement from the two nations.

The joint declaration said Hanoi and Wellington had over the next year develop a shared plan of action focused on strengthening assistance in areas of political commitment, army protection and oceans, economics trade and investment, climate change, science and technology, education and people-to-people links.

The agreement was signed by New Zealand’s Christopher Luxon, who was there for 50 ages to celebrate the two nations ‘ political achievements.

According to Luxon,” We need to strengthen our relationship with Vietnam to ensure that New Zealand’s financial future has greater opportunities for domestic businesses to access this vital market.”
