SINGAPORE: Visa applications sponsored by a travel agency for terrorism-linked individuals were not approved, the Ministry of Home Affairs ( MHA ) said on Thursday ( Feb 13 ).
MHA was responding to queries from CNA regarding disclosures earlier in the week that a Singapore-registered go company,  , linked to an Iranian-Malaysian partners,  , had sponsored card programs for foreigners with violence links to provide Singapore.
The couple may get deported and barred from re-entering Singapore, MHA said on Monday.
In its comment on Thursday, the department said 38-year-old Egyptian national Parvane Heidaridehkordi has left Singapore by Feb 17, seven days after her long-term visit go was cancelled. She was involved in , operating the travel company.
Her father, 65-year-old Indonesian regional Soo Thean Ling, is now not in Singapore, said MHA. Because he is a member of Ms Parvane’s household, Mr. Soo, who is a permanent resident of Singapore, has been designated a prohibited immigrant.
Neither Ms Parvane nor Mr Soo was arrested, and studies so far have not found them to get involved in another terrorism-related activities, MHA told CNA.
The travel agency recently claimed that the MHA had been a front for an activity being led by a stranger based abroad. The company has been deregistered.
The government did not disclose the , title of the travel company or other information of the sensor, citing “operational reasons”.
