
SINGAPORE: Cordlife’s cord blood and human tissue banking service licences have been renewed for a year, the company announced on Tuesday ( Jan 14 ).
Cordlife claimed in a bourse filing that the Ministry of Health ( MOH) had informed it that the director-general of health had chosen to renew its licenses starting on January 14.
Before considering the entire resumption of procedures in Singapore, the firm is” committed to meeting all relevant regulatory requirements and conformity measures,” said Cordlife.  ,
According to the company, at this point, it is unable to determine the company’s financial impact on the group’s monetary performance for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2025.
In November 2023, Cordlife’s misconduct caused the MOH to launch an investigation into the business.
Seven of its wire heart unit storage tanks were exposed to temperatures that were above the permitted range.
About 2, 200 thread body units were found damaged in one of its vehicles, affecting at least 2, 150 customers.
In April last season, it was announced another 5, 300 thread blood products in a subsequent tank and clean carrier were deemed “non-viable“.  ,
In September of last year, Cordlife was given the opportunity to begin its cord blood banking service in a limited capacity. It was collect, analyze, process and store no more than 30 models of fresh cord blood per quarter from Sep 15, 2024, to Jan 13, 2025.
The health ministry’s follow-up reviews in August 2024 revealed that the business had fulfilled the necessary conditions to continue providing cord blood banking services.  ,
CNA has contacted MOH to find out if Cordlife will now be able to collect, analyze, approach, and keep more than 30 new cord blood units per month, as well as if there are any other business restrictions.
