SINGAPORE:  , The police on Friday ( Dec 13 ) warned of a scam involving a fake PayNow phishing website.
Some victims may be informed via text that their PayNow “certificate” will expire in three days, along with a link that users can use to “renew” and “keep your services engaged.”
PayNow is an electronic fund transfer services available to customers of participating banks.  ,
Patients who click on the link , may be taken to a phishing site that requires them to major in credit card details and various private information, including phone numbers, billing names, names and emails.
Members of the public should take notice that PayNow does not have a website that enables the entering of personal and credit card information, according to the authorities.
All information provided to PayNow should only be obtained through the banks ‘ established blogs or mobile applications. Additionally, PayNow does not provide online credentials to the general public.
If in doubt, PayNow customers can call their respective banks through standard hotlines for help, said the officers.
