A construction worker was struck by a steel gate frame at a Yishun work site on Monday ( October 21 ).
The event happened at around 6.50pm at , Block 413 Yishun Ring Road.
The worker, a , 55-year-old Chinese national, was pushing a steel gate frame when it struck him, said the Ministry of Manpower ( MOM).
He was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, where he died from his wounds.
A construction contractor was seen lying on the ground in images shared with CNA. He was seen being evacuated from the field by Singapore Civil Defence Force officials while he was on a bed.  ,  ,
Slide gates must be effectively designed and installed with suitable plugs to avoid them from being derailed when in use, according to MOM.
The government said it is investigating the event and has instructed the company, Jin Shan Construction, to cease all work action at the site.
Nee Quickly Town Council is the project’s designer, according to the statement.
