‘Mental torture’: Malaysia’s ex-GISB members share their experiences of years in controversial conglomerate

Officials ON A Podium

Mr. Razali, 40, recalls being informed that Ashaari Muhammad, the Al-Arqam leader, was still alive but was still living in a paranormal world. Abuya died in 2010.

” I did n’t want to put that aspect aside because I thought it was strange,” I said. My main focus was to better myself”, the creative artist told CNA in an interview, &nbsp, days&nbsp, before the packed media meeting on Friday to tell his views. &nbsp, &nbsp,

He claimed that when they prayed, they were instructed to discuss Abuya, a person who is portrayed as a middleman to God. &nbsp,

On the day of judgment, he was even informed that 70 of their family members may follow them to sky. &nbsp, &nbsp,

” For some that was a good deal. We were often told to not issue our leaders and to always be faithful to them”, he said, adding that he had, however, been sent on “quarantine” some days at the team’s properties for questioning the leaders boldly. &nbsp,

After the hit event, Mrs. Dalilah revealed to CNA that she herself had been taught to believe in the teachings of Abuya.

She acknowledged that it was only just that she was able to shake this misconception. &nbsp,

We were taught as children that we would be one of the chosen citizens who were fighting for Islam, they were told. Although I had left the group a while back because I did n’t agree with some of the things practised by the group, I still believed in some of the teachings”, said Dalilah, who runs her own business. &nbsp, &nbsp, &nbsp,

She claimed that her kids and several other family members were still a part of the group and frequently engaged in conflict. &nbsp,

They are quite upset with me because I had spoken out against it and they continue to be so obsessed with the group’s lessons. &nbsp, &nbsp, &nbsp,

Mrs. Dalilah also shared her experience with her sisters who were reportedly tortured and sexually exploited during the press conference. She claimed to have called some officers inquiries into the issue.

She claimed that a member of the group had threatened to remove the police reports. &nbsp,

According to a report from Free Malaysia Now, the person has since been charged with unlawful harassment.

Another former member, who did not attend the press conference but wanted to get identified as Mr. Kamal, claimed he was born and raised in Sungai Penchala, Kuala Lumpur, where Al-Arqam was first based before being forced to relocate to Rawang, a Selangor area. &nbsp,

His father was a top-ranking member of the group and had even been arrested under the government’s Internal Security Act&nbsp, earlier.

According to Mr. Kamal, commitment to its officials, regardless of circumstance, is a crucial principle in the organization because they are responsible for the group’s future.

According to him,” the supporters were repeatedly told that Abuya was the only one who could keep them in the afterlife,” adding that Abuya was still revered as a divine being. &nbsp,

” I was born into this, and I saw it from Al-Arqam, Rufaqa, and therefore GISB,” he said. ( It ) was the same all the time”, Mr Kamal told CNA.

He added that the leaders told them that they were working for God and Islam and that fans were given work but no income. &nbsp, &nbsp,

For their tireless contributions to the party, Mr. Razali and Mr. Kamal both claimed to never have received a penny from CNA. &nbsp,

During their time in the party, Mr. Kamal was employed as a governor and caregiver while Mr. Razali was employed as a secretary. &nbsp,

GISB supported them and other people, providing food and accommodation in dormitories. &nbsp,
