Nok Air plane skids off runway in Chiang Rai, all flights cancelled

A Nok Air Boeing 737-800 skidded off the runway while landing at the Mae Fah Luang international airport in the northern province of Chiang Rai within heavy rain on Saturday night but nobody was harm.

According to an announcement released by the airline upon Saturday, Nok Atmosphere Flight DD108 (Don Mueang – Chiang Rai) with 164 passengers and 6 crew members on board departed from Add Mueang airport in 8. 03pm plus arrived at Mae Fah Luang airport from 9. 06pm.

While getting, the aircraft slid off the runway because of the heavy rain but the pilots managed to properly bring the aircraft to some halt. All of the travellers and crew people were safely moved to the passenger building. Nobody was hurt.

An investigation was underway in to the incident.

According to the announcement, the business took good care of the passengers by providing these snacks and drinks while waiting for their own luggage.

However , some of the travellers posted comments on Facebook, saying that these were not provided with any kind of refreshments as introduced by the airline.

Nok Air said on Sunday that all flights to Chiang Rai were cancelled.

The Mae Fah Luang airport furthermore said the catwalk would be closed upon Sunday between 6am and 10pm because of the incident.

As a result, Thai Grin, Thai Vietjet and Thai Air Asian countries will on Sunday transport their departing passengers by bus  from Mae Fah Luang airport in Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai airport terminal, from where they can further travel simply by air to their locations.
