Smoke from Singapore Airlines jet engine forces temporary runway closure at Narita Airport

SINGAPORE: &nbsp, A Singapore Airlines ( SIA ) plane was seen with white smoke coming from its engine as it landed at Tokyo’s Narita Airport on Monday ( Aug 12 ).

The event forced a runway&nbsp, to similar periodically on Monday, authorities said, though firefighters found no indications of blaze and no one was injured. Runway B was closed for about&nbsp, 50 days from around 7.40am nearby day as the plane was towed away.

Aircraft SQ638 was carrying 276 passengers and crew members, local advertising added.

” We received a statement of white dust rising from the remaining engine”, a&nbsp, Narita&nbsp, capital fire official told AFP.

However, she claimed that no injuries or signs of flames were present, and that firefighters had to leave the scene after spending more than an afternoon looking at the aircraft.

The Boeing 787 aircraft involved in the incident does had experienced a difficulty as it was getting, according to Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism’s airport business. &nbsp,

The soot, which was reported after the trip had landed, prompted six fireplace machines and two vehicles to dash to the field, &nbsp, an&nbsp, airport&nbsp, official told AFP.

” It communicated that there was a likelihood that it experienced a difficulty when it landed”, a spokeswoman at&nbsp, Narita&nbsp, International&nbsp, Airport&nbsp, said.

The official said there were no more details about the event, but that wheel pieces had been discovered on the runway.
