Scoot flight delayed after X-ray machine catches fire in gate holdroom at Changi Airport

A Scoot flight to Bali was delayed on Tuesday morning ( Aug 6 ) because a smoke-filled X-ray machine burned in the Changi Airport gate holdroom.

According to Scoot, an X-ray system in the holdroom for Gate D46 at Terminal 1 started producing dust at around 6.40am in response to CNA’s inquiries.

Passengers of Scoot trip TR280 were “promptly evacuated” to another lock’s holdroom, that for Gate D49, &nbsp, Scoot said.

” Affected buyers were provided with snacks”, the flight added.

According to Scoot, the journey was actually scheduled to leave at 7.10 am, but it gradually left just after 9 am and arrived in Bali at 11.30 am.

The X-ray equipment is filmed in a film that was posted on TikTok by consumer Montanaandchris. The flames extinguishers appears to be used to start the fire, followed by an a&nbsp.

Additionally, the film shows visitors as they pass through gates and the heat engulfed in smoke as they pass through.

A spokesperson for Changi Airport Group told CNA that an electronic problem was the cause of the fire.

The airports staff” threatened to put out the fire right away,” according to the director, noting that no passengers were hurt as a result.

Scoot apologised for the pain caused by the event.
