China: A man has been caught trying to smuggle over 100 lived snakes into mainland China by cramming them into his skirts, according to the country’s customs power.
The unnamed traveler attempted to leave Hong Kong and enter Shenzhen, according to a statement from China Customs on Tuesday ( July 9 ). He was stopped by customs officers.
According to the speech,” Customs officers discovered that the pants the customer was wearing had six canvas drawstring bags packed and taped the pockets.”
” When opened, each case was found to contain dwelling snakes in all kinds of styles, sizes and shades”, it added.
The statement said officials seized 104 of the slimy reptiles, including cheese snakes and maize reptiles, many of which were non-native varieties.
