It is possible for Singapore to win a game against heavyweights South Korea, according to Lions midfielder Safuwan Baharudin on Wednesday ( Jun 5 ) with the support of a strong home crowd.
” It’s possible to find things. Thailand and Malaysia both accomplished it. And it’s a great opportunity for us to do it with the house crowd support us”, said , Safuwan, who was speaking at a post- match push conference a day before Singapore’s World Cup qualifier clash with South Korea.
Earlier this year, Malaysia drew the South Koreans 3- 3 in an Eastern Cup team stage fight. Thailand, who are in the exact World Cup qualification class as the Lions,  , likewise took points off the Eastern heavyweights in a 1- 1 bring in March.
” It’s motivation for me to do better every time when you see neighbour ( ing ) countries doing well”, said Safuwan, who plays in Malaysia with Selangor.
It depicts the distance they are from them and how well-known we are to them.
Child Heung-min and Hwang Hee-chan are expected to play in the Thursday night game. The Lions are now the group’s best scorers, with just one point, while South Korea is currently the top team, with ten positions.
