Pakornwut Udompipatskul, a MP for the Move Forward Party, has refuted media reports that a” Kao Mai” party was intended to welcome its MPs in the event that the party dissolves.
He claimed that if the Constitutional Court decides to dissolve Move Forward, the” Kao Mai Party,” or “new action,” had been formed to provide MPs.
The meeting did not address the name of the fresh party or the likelihood of a judge decision, but the MPs were assured they had nothing to worry about, according to Mr. Pakornwut.
” Some first- time Members were worried, so we just wanted to tell them there was really little to worry about”, he said on Tuesday. ” ]If the MFP is dissolved], it will still be the same house, but with a new brand”.
Whether or not the party is disbanded, according to Mr. Pakornwut, its MPs may continue performing their political tasks.
Following the court’s ruling on January 31 that Move Forward’s efforts to change Part 112 of the Criminal Code, the lese-majeste law, indicated an intention to destroy the constitutional monarchy, rumors about the new group spread after the Election Commission overwhelmingly asked the court to dissolve it on March 12.
According to Mr. Pakornwut, who was questioned about the party’s annual meeting the month before, changes to the group’s executive branch are unlikely, amid rumors that deputy director Pita Limjaroenrat might be reinstated as head.
In a short discussion, Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, president of the Progressive Movement, admitted he was worried about the idea of the MFP being dissolved.
The Future Forward Party ( FFP ) was reincarnated in Move Forward in February 2020 due to an illegal loan it obtained from its leader, Mr. Thanathorn.
Thepthai Senapong, a former Democrat MP for Nakhon Si Thammarat, said an effort to weaken Walk Forward by disbanding it would be pointless.
He cited the results of the most recent Nida Poll, which showed Mr. Pita to have the most popular candidate for the presidency with support of 42.75 %, up from 39.4 % in the previous poll.
He claimed simply 23.7 percent of Pheu Thai head Paetongtarn Shinawatra’s recognition when Srettha Thavisin and Pheu Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin merged.
Move Forward’s party approval rating also rose to 48.45 %, from 44.05 % in the previous survey, while Pheu Thai’s rating dropped to 22.1 %, compared with 24.05 % in December.
