SINGAPORE YERLOW LESS HAPPY
According to the 2024 report, the rankings for countries for young and old “are very different.”
” Some of the countries with the highest overall ranking for the elderly are typically those with high overall ranking, but there are also some where the young have recently performed very poorly,” it continued.
This year’s review zoomed in on two age groups- the “young” older 30 and above, and the “old” aged 60 and up.
Among the younger, Lithuania, Israel and Serbia took the first, second and third places both. Singapore ranked 54th, merely back of Spain and Greece, in a slightly lower position.
Likewise, the elder in Singapore ranked much higher at 26th, just behind France and back of Saudi Arabia. Denmark, Finland and Norway rate number one, two and three.
Previous years ‘ reports did not break joy by age groups.
Compassion AMONG THE Little
The Gallup World Poll, which the happiness record draws on, even tracks three forms of benign behaviour: Giving gifts, volunteering and helping outsiders.
In the years following the epidemic, according to the report, there were more of these functions.
” For all three works, the increases in compassion, whether measured as shares of the people, or fraction increases from pre- epidemic levels, are greatest for millennials and Gen Z”, the review found.
This suggests that teenagers are even more possible than their forebears to improve their charitable works when a fresh need like COVID arises.
The document does not provide a collapse of benevolent deeds by nations.
