90-day deadline set for condo dispute

A solution to a legitimate debate over the 6- billion- ringgit Ashton Asoke apartments job in the Watthana region of Bangkok needs to be found in three months, according to a court official.

This comes amid concerns the apartments may be demolished if no solution is found and follows a Supreme Administrative Court attempt last July withdrawing the condo’s building enable because the property’s main entrance was not the necessary width.

The jury invalidated the building permit granted to the already finished apartment task as the permit was issued unlawfully.

The condo’s main entrance is connected to Asoke Road but part of the entrance belongs to the Mass Rapid Transit Authority ( MRTA ), which expropriated the land to build the entrance to an underground train station right on the project’s doorstep.

Prawit Boonthiem, chairman of the Supreme Administrative Court’s liability and other obligations area, yesterday said the BMA, Ananda MF Asia Asoke Co, and the MRTA have three weeks to solve the problem in accordance with the Building Control Act. If the concerned agencies fail to do so within the date, the BMA has summon the work, which requires the tower to be demolished. The glass for destruction is 90 days, Mr Prawit said.

Bangkok lieutenant governor Wisanu Subsompon expressed confidence a alternative may be reached in three months as the creator has been advised to ll- submit a request for a construction permit without first having to take down the building. A board has also been formed by the Transport Ministry, and discussions will be held to set guidelines for the MRTA to fix the property confiscation matter, he said.
