He was listed as a sexual offender, but the Illinois Department of Corrections withheld the terms of his word.

He admitted guilt to claims of grooming and possessing child pornography and was sentenced on December 3, 2017. As part of a petition bargain that Yee accepted, sixteen additional charges were dropped. His incarceration in October 2020 was backdated to the prison sentence.

The court was recently informed that Yee had made friends with the victim, a 14-year-old lady, in February 2019. Yee was 20 at the time.

They started an” online courtship ,” during which he kept requesting her bare-chested pictures.

The trial claimed that he occasionally asked her to act out role-playing and” physical fantasies.” Despite the sufferer telling him that she was 14 years older, this was the case. Up until July 2019, this continued.

According to the court, he used WhatsApp to” lure, court, and trap” the prey before posting pictures of her electronically.

In October 2020, US commanders detained Yee at his house in the Norwood Park East neighborhood of Chicago.

After a petition deal was reached, he admitted guilt to the costs.
