Substitute Ukraine for Russia in Quartet after Hamas attack

In order to punish what appears to be Soviet involvement in Hamas’ bloody criminal assault, the worst military invasion and greatest knowledge loss for Israel since the Yom Kippur War on October 6, 1973, US President Joe Biden and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen may call for the removal of Russia from the East Jerusalem-based Middle East Quartet made up of the United States, European Union, Russia, and the UN.

On October 6, 2023, the Brigade of Midshipmen was reviewed at the Annapolis Naval Academy by US Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro and Russian maritime attaché Captain Serhii Fedorchuk.

More than 700 Israelis were killed and more than 50 victims were taken prisoner as a result of the attacks, which even appear to have been covertly staged by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

According to Russian military intelligence resources, Gennady Timchenko, a sanctioned Russian billionaire and former landlord of the Geneva-based Gunvor commodities trading house, and the Redut personal army, which is commanded by Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, trained Hamas.

After launching” Operation Iron Swords” against Hamas businesses in Gaza and Hezbollah problems from Lebanon, Israel formally declared war on the Palestinians on Sunday.

The disastrous assault appeared to have caught people off guard.

Yet US Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro, who abruptly ended a meet-and-greet at an Annapolis Naval Academy celebration on Friday evening due to serious business, didn’t appear to be aware that an Israeli terrorist attack was imminent.

While Mikhail Ulyanov, the Russian embassy to the International Atomic Energy Agency, declined to comment on Wagner and Redut presence, leaders at the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington claimed they had no information on any potential presence of either party in training Hamas extremists.

In military activities with Iran, Russia has used Wagner and Redut resources to help Bashar al-Assad’s government in Syria. Military specialists in the US and Europe assert that Hamas’ use of surprise ground assault, drones, and preventative rocket attacks were all lessons learned from the Russo-Ukranian conflict.

The fact that neither President Vladimir Putin nor yet Lavrov denounced the attack, with the highest-ranking established, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, telling the official federal news service Tass:” This is a recurrence of an 75-year-old conflict,” was another indication that Russia was complicit in the Hamas attack. All functions, including the Muslim states, are in contact with Moscow. We demand a peace and harmony right away.

Ismail Haniyeh, the president of the Hamas political party, and Lavrov have had several open encounters over the past year, with the most recent one taking place in Moscow in September 2022. & nbsp,

Lavrov, who views himself as the successor to Andrei Gromyko’s Russian politics and is a Middle Eastern expert on the ranges of soon Russian prime minister Yevgeny Primakov, may have made his final fatal error as foreign secretary by failing to warn Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of the impending Hamas militant attack from the Gaza Strip.

The Hamas problems are obviously against Russian and its” companion without restrictions ,” China, even though it is in Iran’s national interest to carry out any activity that might obstruct US efforts to expand the Jewish Abraham Accords to contain Saudi Arabia.

China, which has courted Israel by investing in vital infrastructure like the Port of Haifa and Israeli-based VC / PE funds like Catalyst Investments, is reluctant to see any sharp increase in crude oil prices that would significantly increase the cost of exports. A global recession would certainly result from any increase in oil prices above$ 150 per barrel, which would have the worst effect on China’s already fragile economy.

Netanyahu and earlier Israeli governments have up until this point maintained a largely natural stance on the Russo-Ukraine conflict, claiming that it required Russia’s assistance to thwart Iranian-sponsored attacks from Syria and elsewhere. Israel, however, is now poised to become Ukraine’s most crucial military alliance in its conflict with Russia after Russia failed to stop the Hamas problems and likely participated in them.

In an unplanned local act of solidarity, the Jewish Star of David is flying over Russian roads from Kiev to Kharkiv.

But, by removing Russia from the Quartet, the organization established in Madrid in 2002 to enhance the Israeli economy and a two-state solution for Israeli-Palestinian peace, Biden and the EU can make it abundantly clear that Russia is genuinely an outcast nation with no place in international diplomacy.

Ukraine can exchange Russia as a member of the Quartet, acknowledging its powerful contribution to bringing nations like Saudi Arabia into the Russian peace process. At the same time, Biden may keep his promise that Ukraine will continue to receive security assurances from the United States until it joins NATO in full.
