Huawei’s new AI strategy aims to transform industry

Meng Wanzhou, CFO, and deputy chairwoman of Huawei presented the company’s new computing and communications strategy to” accelerate the intelligent transformation of thousands of industries” in her keynote speech at the Huawei Connect 2023 conference on September 20 – 22 in Shanghai.

It describes the company’s approach to artificial intelligence ( AI ) and is known as All Intelligence, a combination of its earlier All IP and All Cloud strategies. She stated that” Huawei” was dedicated to developing China’s robust computing power base and creating a second choice for the entire world.

According to the Shanghai Observer, this has three major facets:

  1. Create everything joinable. In addition to natural entities, but also reasonable and digital ones, traditional terminals and devices, and not only digital equipment, it is also possible to obtain intentions as well as data.
  2. Utilize the large-model model and make all applications modelable in order to rapidly gain people, every family, and every business.
  3. Create all choices based on logic. Huawei may speed up the omnipotence of intellect and allow the potential of data to be constantly released and superimposed in computing thanks to the widespread availability of computing power.

Meng, the father of Huawei’s girl Ren Zhengfei, discussed how the company has moved from communications network infrastructure to cloud computing.

She added that” Huawei Cloud has become one of the fastest-growing popular cloud suppliers in the world,” active around the globe with about 5 million designers and 3 million clients,” and supports the secure operation of more than 1, 500 networks in more over 170 countries and regions worldwide. & nbsp,

As” neural network models with guidelines exceeding 100 billion or perhaps billions are accelerating into dozens of companies ,” she claimed, AI is getting close to an inflection point.

” Large models can adapt to a variety of business scenarios, greatly reducing the threshold for AI development and application, shortening the cycle from technology to application ,” and moving AI from scenario-based customization and workshop-style development to industrialization.

Huawei’s innovative business model, which aims to give customers the computing power, AI software, and development tools they need to improve their operations, is based on this. Meng put it this way:” We support each organization to use its own information to teach our own large type, allowing us to help each business use our professional knowledge to create our very own big industry model.” nbsp

She compares this to the phrase” letting a hundred flowers bloom ,” which was inspired by the China Hundred Flowers Campaign of 1956 – 1957. The campaign’s tagline, which for a while promoted open discussion of public policy, read,” Let 100 flowers flower, let 100 schools of thought deal.” Now, it entails making it possible for AI to distribute among Huawei’s domestic and international clientele.

Meng surprised some foreign reporters by omitting to mention Huawei’s Mate 60 Pro, a brand-new fifth-generation ( 5G ) smartphone that criticizes US sanctions. However, Huawei Connect 2023 did not have that as its goal. The following were some of the topics covered at the event:

  • Manufacturing Intelligence: R & amp, D digitization, smart factory solutions, and the founding of the Manufacturing Model Innovation Alliance.
  • Integrated energy and information flows: smart electrical power.
  • Facilities for the online industry’s energy needs includes data centers, on-site power supply, and sustainability.
  • Modern logistics for goods and vehicles, traffic management, and 5G smart urban rail are examples of intelligent road, railway, or waterway upgrades.
  • Information infrastructure for AI foundation models includes data mining and storage, financial application, business planning, and clinical research.
  • Huawei Cloud Developer Alliance: enhancing abilities, professional assistance, application development, and distribution.

Huawei offers a lot more than just 5G phones. & nbsp,
