Two weeks after his & nbsp, resounding election victory, Tharman Shanmugaratnam was sworn in as Singapore’s ninth president on Thursday( Sept 14 ) at the Istana.
At the State Room of the Istana, Mr. Tharman took his oath of office in front of friends that included Cabinet members, past presidents Halimah Yacob, and Tony Tan.
Previous Senior Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Tharman received 70.41 percent of the vote in the election held on September 1st, including votes cast abroad and domestically.
