Two senior police officers who were present when a highway police officer was shot and killed last Wednesday in Nakhon Pathom at Kamnan Nok’s dinner party have been moved to passive positions.
The Provincial Police Region 7 director, Pol Lt Gen Thanayut Wuthicharasdamrong, and the Muang place captain, Nakhon Pathom, were transferred to work at the municipal authorities district’s headquarters on Monday, September 11, pursuant to an order.
The move purchase cited Pol Maj Siwakorn Saibua, 32, of Highway Police sub-division 2, who was shot by shooter Thananchai Manmak on the evening of September 6, as well as the injuries sustained by Highway Patrol deputy commander Lt. Col. Wasin Panpee. The two men were among the numerous police officers present at Praween Chankhlai’s group, Kamnan Nok, the commander of tambon Takong in the Muang area.
Mr. Praween, 35, & nbsp, has been detained on suspicion of ordering the murder. According to reports, the kamnan— a powerful local figure — refused to give his wife’s nephew a promotion. Later, the shooter was killed in a gunfight with police in the province of Kanchanaburi.
All officers officers present at the party were to be investigated, per a directive from the Royal Thai Police Office.
Six police officers were later detained, fired from the army, and charged with aiding and abetting offenses after court arrest warrants were approved for their arrest on criminal charges related to the shooting.
The large number of officers present at the dinner party was visible in pictures and media reports. According to the order, this may give the public the impression that they were Mr. Praween’s close friends and have an impact on how the Provincial Police Region 7 and the Royal Thai Police as a whole are perceived.
The six detained officials were accused of assisting Mr. Praween in avoiding capture and of hiding and destroying criminal proof. They were andnbsp, who were scheduled to appear on Monday in the Criminal Court for the Corruption and Misconduct Cases of Region 7 in Samut Songkhram territory.
To allow for further inspection, the authorities were to ask the court for permission to detain them for an additional 12 days.
