OpenAI chief granted Indonesia’s first golden visa

Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, has been given Indonesia’s second gold visa, according to officials, as the largest economy in Southeast Asia seeks to draw in affluent foreign investors.

According to director-general of emigration Silmy Karim, the co-founder of the ChatGPT scammer sensation was given a 10-year immigration for his prospective contributions to Indonesia’s advancement of artificial intelligence.

Golden Visa recipients no longer need to apply to the immigration department for a transitory stay permit once they arrive in Indonesia, he said.

” In exchange for the tools they give Indonesia, we are spreading the dark carpet.”

Due to his foreign standing as the CEO of the artificial intelligence research and development organization, the US-based tech entrepreneur was also given a unique card, according to the official.
