The Asia Cup class match between Pakistan and India in Pallekele, Sri Lanka, was postponed due to rain.

India was bowled out for 266 in 48. 5 innings, with speed bowling Shaheen Afridi taking 4 – 35, Ishan Kizhan hitting 82, and Hardik Pandya scoring 87.

However, rain started to fall during the break and did not stop in time to play the required 20 wickets per part.

It means Pakistan, who won their opener against Nepal, have qualified for the super four stage.

If they manage to defeat Nepal in the last Group A game on Monday at the same location, India will meet them.

After choosing to bat, India fell to 66-4 before Kishan and Hardik’s outstanding 138-point stand.

After both fell, the wickets came to a halt. India lost their final five innings for 27 goes, while strong bowlers Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah each took three.

Sri Lanka hosted the game after they joined Pakistan as co-hosts of the 50-over competition.

Due to political tensions, Pakistan and India have simply competed against one another since 2013 at ICC international tournaments or at Asia Cup games held in natural locations.

The remainder of the game will be held in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, after Pakistan’s opening very four match against either Bangladesh or Afghanistan at house.

The 50-over World Cup, which India is hosting, starts on October 5.
