Graffiti found on wall of Buona Vista MRT underpass; police investigations ongoing

SINGAPORE: Investigations are underway after graffiti was found scrawled on the wall of an underpass leading to Buona Vista MRT station, the police said on Tuesday (Aug 8).

In response to CNA’s queries, the police added that a report was lodged.

The spray-painted message, comprising words and symbols, read: “IF 1 (syringe) = 1 DEATH = 1 (stick figure being hanged) = HOW MANY 4 U SG GOV?”

When CNA arrived at the location at about 12.40pm on Tuesday, cones and police tape were seen placed around the vandalised wall. The police were also on the scene.

The underpass was later cordoned off at both ends at about 1.20pm and workers were seen removing the graffiti at 2.05pm.

CNA has reached out to SMRT, LTA and Tanjong Pagar Town Council for more information.
