KATHMANDU: According to an official, dozens of authorities rescuers were searching a secluded area in west Nepal on Wednesday( May 3) for five people who had vanished after being hit by an avalanche while looking for an expensive ephrodisiac herb.
Since Tuesday, when an avalanche struck their camp in the town of Byas, four women and one man have gone missing, while seven people have managed to flee, according to Pradip Singh Dhami, a district established in Darchula. The region is located in 500 kilometers west of Kathmandu, the country’s capital.
Regular rain and rain in the area have made it difficult to find the missing villagers, according to Dhami.
During the summers, hundreds of people travel to the Himalayas’ hills to gather the fungus-like herb, also known as the” Himalayan Viagra.”
During a severe storm in 2007, sixteen villagers who were gathering the pricey flower were killed in the isolated Dolpa region on China’s border.
