- TechFest 2022 open to the public until 18th September
- Largest experiential technology festival, conference in M’sia post pandemic
Pikom, together with the Penang State Government, lead agencies and tech partners have opened TechFest 2022 to the public.
In a statement, the association said the event features more than 500 innovative brands and products and will be open until 18th September 2022.
It added that agencies including Invest Penang, Digital Penang, Penang City Council , Seberang Perai City Council , Penang Science Cluster and Penang Smart Parking have provided support and facilitation towards the staging of TechFest 2022.
By design, TechFest 2022 is intended to provide an experiential journey – focusing on the need of technology to better lives, how it is used daily to enhance and improve business operations and modernise lifestyles.
Pikom chairman Dr Sean Seah said TechFest 2022 occupies a gross exhibition space of more than 6,500 sqm, featuring more than 500 brands and products.
“This is the largest experiential technology festival and conference in Malaysia post pandemic taking place in conjunction with WCIT 2022,” he added.
Meanwhile, Chow Kon Yeow (pic), the chief minister of Penang said the ‘educating’ element in TechFest 2022 certainly augurs well with the efforts of the Penang state government to create an inclusive digital society.
“This is pivotal in our Penang2030 Vision of “A Family-Focused Green and Smart State That Inspires the Nation”, as outlined in the Penang Digital Transformation Masterplan (or simply known as the DTMP) 1.0 (2021-2023) document,” he added.
TechFest 2022 features main exhibitors such as Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce, iTrainKids, MRANTI, TIME, YES, Angkasa-X, Tech Dome Penang, Legatus, SEA Dragon, FUTURISE and Crest.
Other exhibitors include ACP Championship Malaysia, Acestar, Bad Ape NFT, pentas.io, Seetiverse.io, APEX, SIME Darby Motors, Veon Szu Law, Polygon, Universiti Sains Malaysia, and MX Global among others.
One of the main features of TechFest 2022 is the 688 drone-light flying over the skies at the Penang Port which will take place on 15th September 2022.
Pikom said Drone Sifu will qualify for a submission to the Malaysia Book of Records, for having more than 600 drones flying in the sky.
It added that TechFest 2022 is expected to draw more 100,000 visitors, including spectators to the drone show.
