MPs rip parliament for ‘hoarded lunches’, faults

MPs have cried foul over other lawmakers hoarding food as well as faulty amenities at parliament which are causing inconvenience.

Several MPs accepted the floor when parliament convened on Thursday night to air their grievances over difficulties with meals and the official premises. Rangsima Rodrassamee, the Democrat Celebration MP for Samut Songkhram, called upon Parliament president Chuan Leekpai to prohibit MPs from having free meal boxes offered to them throughout parliamentary meetings outside the canteen.

Ms Rangsima said some MPs were seen taking luggage full of meal boxes home, leaving only rice and deep-fried eggs for their fellow lawmakers who showed up later at the canteen.

The lady suggested Mr Chuan issue a rigid rule preventing MPs from taking more than one meal box every, claiming such meals hoarding was a waste of taxpayers’ cash. “They also raided the refrigerators and snatched milk plus water. For heaven’s sake, leave several for other people, ” Ms Rangsima said.

Mister Chuan said he’d appoint Ms Rangsima as his mechanic for catering in parliament. Access to the particular canteen is normally restricted to lawmakers, Mr Chuan said. Also, Ms Rangsima said some of the women’s toilets may not stop flushing for nearly half an hour, resulting in lost water. There were no workers to attend to such problems, she additional.

Mukda Pongsombat, the Pheu Thai Party MEGA-PIXEL for Khon Kaen, complained after searching for herself locked in an exceedingly toilet cubicle. The cleaning lady with an electric screwdriver came to her recovery, she said.
