KANCHANABURI: A new skywalk and a walking road have opened along the banks of the Kwae Yai River in Muang district of the western border province.

The federal government approved a budget to build up and beautify the Old Town sector to both sides of the Kwae Noy and Kwae Yai rivers which usually run through the area, local officials mentioned.

The particular glass skywalk, the 12-metre high plus 150-metre-long walkway, is designed to give tourists an elevated view of where the Kwae Yai plus Kwae Noi rivers’ differently shaded oceans meet alongside a complete view of the city.

The particular walking street lies along the same part of the Kwae Yai River — of “Bridge Over The Lake Kwai” fame — and comes with a new park and an area for public activities.

Both are operated with the Muang Kanchanaburi municipality, local officials stated.

A good opening ceremony for that skywalk and the strolling street was held upon Saturday, chaired simply by governor Jirakiat Phumsawat. The walking road opened on Saturday, and is open through 4pm to 10pm every day.

The province expectations these attractions may prove popular with vacationers and help offer residents with a new area for recreation.
