Thales appoints Emily Tan as country director and S’pore CEO

  • Succeeds Kevin Chow who moves to senior leadership role
  • To drive Thales’s development across three sites in Singapore 

Thales appoints Emily Tan as country director and S'pore CEO Thales has appointed Emily Tan (pic) as country director for Thales Singapore and as chief executive pertaining to Thales Solutions Asia Pte Ltd effective Sept 1 .

In a declaration, the France-based technology firm said Bronze succeeds Kevin Chow who will continue his Thales career in a senior leadership function at Thales’ Airspace Mobility Solutions company.

This added that because country director, Bronze will lead over 2, 000 Thales employees and drive the company’s development across three websites in Singapore.  

This consists of the group’s largest multi-module digital identity and security production centre located on Ayer Rajah Crescent and its largest avionics production and upkeep, repair and overhaul facility at Changi North Rise.

Prior to signing up for Thales, Tan spent fourteen years with Shell, most recently since general manager, town solutions for Shell’s Renewables and Power Solutions business.  

Starting her career using the Singapore Economic Growth Board (EDB), Bronze brings a keen knowledge of Singapore’s public field where she invested three years in London as director of EDB’s London Centre, and later as the head of international policy and lead negotiator for international industry agreements.

Nicolas Bouverot, vice president at Thales Asia, said, “Her outstanding career here and abroad, along with her appreciation of key technologies that will Thales is purchasing, makes her an all natural fit to guide our Singapore group. ”

He added the firm looks ahead to deepening the customer relationships and expanding its business under Emily’s management, notably in brand new and fast-growing areas such as 5G, impair, biometrics and fintech.

Color said the group’s ambitions also aligns closely to that associated with Singapore’s, and she is certainly excited for the several potential opportunities this particular brings, where Thales can play the collaborative role along with key stakeholders to support Singapore as a clever and sustainable country.

Recently, the company has made strategic investments in Singapore, including establishing the Thales Digital Manufacturing plant in 2018, and opening joint analysis and co-development labs with customers and partners including the City Aviation Authority associated with Singapore and HTX.
