To disrupt the insurance sector, FWD Start-Up Studio plus 1337 Ventures are looking for teams of college students, startups, data wizards, software ninjas, IT professionals, and insurtech enthusiasts. Participate in a 3-day Regional Insurtech Data Hackathon from September 9 in order to 11, 2022, with a demo day upon September 24, 2022.
This particular hackathon brings together innovators and technical companions from across the area to collaborate with tech talent from diverse disciplines. Groups of 2-3 people from Malaysia, Hk, Japan, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, Cambodia, Macau, and the Philippines are welcome to apply.
In addition , the top three teams will win US$5, 000, US$2, five hundred, and US$1, five hundred, respectively, as money prizes. All individuals will receive a welcome package with a T-shirt and goodies.
Teams are required to solve problems and come up with unique ideas that can disrupt the industry, during the two day event. There are two problem statements:
- 1 : Website Traffic Management System. How might we all track and make use of website data so we may understand plus predict customer preference towards insurance products?
- 2 : General public Data. How might we personalise product approach and wedding with customers simply by utilising social media information?
All participants learn about the state from the insurance industry, write down ideas using Design Thinking, and hack over the course of three days to construct a prototype that tackles a market pain point. 1337 Ventures and FWD will hold office hrs and mentoring sessions, as will local community partners such as Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and the Malaysian Research Accelerator meant for Technology and Development (MRANTI).

Participants in the Hackathon Top 10 is going to be given priority admission to Alpha Startups Insurtech Pre-Accelerator (Cohort 4) , a 10-week program designed to launch plus accelerate their startup company idea.
