ISKANDAR PUTERI: The tabling of Budget 2023 remains on schedule for Oct twenty-eight, says Deputy Fund Minister Datuk Mohd Shahar Abdullah.
“It was announced that Budget 2023 will be tabled on April 28 as stated within the Dewan Rakyat’s takwim (calendar).
“I have not received details of a change towards the date yet, ” he told reporters after witnessing the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Iskandar Expenditure Berhad (IIB) plus Futurerise Sdn Bhd at Common Ground Iskandar Space here on Thursday (Aug 25).

Mohd Shahar was responding to questions if the Budget will be tabled earlier carrying out a renewed push for that 15th General Selection (GE15) to be known as soon.
On a separate matter, Mohd Shahar reiterated that banking institutions would be held accountable if it has been found that their very own carelessness led to customers losing their savings due to security weaknesses.
“Bank Negara is continuously overseeing the situation and those who feel they have been victimised could make a law enforcement report or report it to their respective banks.
“We will also get the financial institutions involved to look into such matters and (if it is found they were careless) are going to held accountable, ” he said to queries of whether or not Financial institution Negara would make a change in such situations.

In a statement within June, the main bank had stated it would take action against banks for not being able to protect consumer personal privacy, especially in relation to fraud cases.
The particular Federation of Malaysian Consumers Associations experienced reportedly urged banks to pay compensation in order to customers who dropped their savings because of security breaches in the banks’ part.
It also urged Financial institution Negara to set up an unique team to investigate the particular banks involved.

The Deputy Minister said the global drone industry will be expected to see growth of 9. 4% by 2026 using the possibility of reaching heights of US$43bil (RM192. 3bil) in income.
“We have to use the next four years to develop nearby talents so that they can become at par along with international drone pilots.
“We must also develop skills plus interest in drones among schoolchildren and those from the rural areas, not merely industry players, ” he said.
He added that the government is focusing on preparing a syllabus and curriculum which could improve interest and skills in the jingle sector.
“We are more focused on creating the curriculum instead of setting up drone hubs as we see that there is no point for us to have many hubs without much content.
“We need to move on the right pace, not really too fast but also not really too slow, ” this individual said in response to queries on whether or not the federal government is looking at supplying more drone hubs.
