Bars, restaurants required to display notices of permitted alcohol sale, consumption hours from Mar 1

A infringement of the new requirement carries a fine as high as S$10, 000, SPF said, adding that Class 1A, Course 1B, Class 2A, and Class 2B liquor licensees have already been notified about the new requirement.

There is no change within rules for alcohol consumption at certified premises – the newest notices will function to highlight the current rules under the Alcohol Control (Supply and Consumption) Act 2015.

These guidelines allow liquor licensees to supply liquor just within their licensed property and only during relevant liquor trading hours.

Any licensee who supplies alcohol and allows the intake of liquor outside the suitable liquor trading hrs faces a fine of up to S$10, 000.

SPF reminded members of the public that alcohol can only be consumed from licensed premises throughout stipulated hours.

“Police will take motion under Section 12(1) of the Act towards patrons who declare ignorance of the liquor trading hours and they are found drinking in the licensed premises after the liquor trading hours, ” SPF stated.

“Offenders might be liable to a fine of up to S$1, 000. Replicate offenders may be prone to face a fine as high as S$2, 000, to imprisonment of up to three months, or both. inch
