SINGAPORE: The Punggol Regional Library opened its 1st two floors towards the public on Monday (Jan 30), featuring spaces for kids such as a do-it-yourself tinkering area and an area with animated local poetry.
The new library, located within the One Punggol integrated community center, will also cater to individuals with disabilities through features like calm pods and wheelchair-accessible guide borrowing stations.
The remaining three floors — aimed at teens and adults — are expected to open a couple of months later, said the National Library Table (NLB) in a pr release.
The library, which is also the largest community library in Singapore, will open day-to-day from 12pm to 9pm.
FUNCTIONS FOR CHILDREN
Spark! Lab: A tinkering space that will NLB set up in partnership with the Smithsonian Institution from the United States.
Among the activities that children can enjoy is definitely creating items that journey through a wind tube. They are free to move at their own pace, guided by questions for each activity. This really is targeted at children outdated seven to twelve years.
Storyteller Cove: Children can learn more about the history, tradition and customs of different countries through interactive experiences on actual and digital systems.
