Controversial plan ‘not just about tourism’

Saran: Budget is for design and EIA
Saran: The expenditure is for EIA and style.

The proposed wire vehicle to the bottom of Phu Kradueng, according to a Pheu Thai Party MP from Loei state, is intended to promote both commerce and economic management in the regional area.

Saran Timsuwan, a representative for Loei’s 3rd district, claimed the government has approved a 25.7-million-baht budget for the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration to design the project and conduct an Environmental Impact Assessment ( EIA ).

He refrained from recommending that the money be used for various initiatives like building roads or installing electrical trams on the mountain top.

The wire car effort has been up for discussion for more than 30 years. The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation ( DNP ) proposed to introduce small electric trams for tourists on Phu Kradueng’s summit, but the budget is only for design and EIA studies, according to Mr. Saran, who responded to public criticism.

He claimed that the cable car job is being pursued solely to draw in more visitors. Rather, it is a multifaceted development that was created to assist with administrative support for park personnel, waste management, and emergency response.

It’s been observed in the past that it’s challenging to transport large items like machines to the mountain during forest fires. The technology is frequently required to get dismantled and manually carried up. A cable car may enable us to move people and technology quickly and effectively in times of need, according to Mr. Saran. He claimed the cable car may even help with porter load-shifting and handle the mountain’s challenging waste disposal.

The route has already been planned to minimize biological disruption, having formerly been studied for environmental viability. The Nursing recognizes this path and its ability to strike a balance between convenience and conservation, according to Mr. Saran.

” The layout must take into account the location and dimensions of pylons, digging depth, and basis structures– all of which must be properly considered during the EIA process,” he continued.

The cable car may be designed and constructed in tandem to ensure that it complies with environmental regulations and causes the least disturbance possible.
