Trump says he urged Apple to manufacture in US not India

US President Donald Trump urged Apple to make its products in the US rather than India, where the US software giant has stated it will be shifting generation after US levies on China.

During a multi-day tour of the Gulf, Trump said,” I had a little difficulty with Tim Cook,” making reference to Apple’s CEO. Tim, I said,” We treated you really well. We have been having trouble with all the flowers you have constructed in China for decades.

The president claimed that he had told Cook that” we’re not engaged in you building in India… we want you to create around and they’re going to increase their production in the United States.”

The US and China reached an agreement on Monday to dismiss tit-for-tat taxes for 90 days, delaying the start of a trade conflict that has spooked economic markets and raised concerns about a global economic downturn.

Apple was unable to accurately assess the impact of tariffs prior to the Beijing-Beijing deal, according to Cook. &nbsp,

When Cook announced the software company’s first-quarter results in early May, Cook predicted that” the majority of smartphones sold in the US will have an Indian country of origin.”

He warned of the ambiguous effects of the 145 percent US taxes, which come from China, the agency’s long-standing producing hub, despite a momentary restraint for high-end technology products like smartphones and computers.

Not all of the elements that go into Apple products are spared, despite Trump’s current exemption for finished phones.
