
Shah Alam City Team A won the coveted group name as the championships event came to an end on Sunday, to the applause of house fans.
In fact, it was a happy end to the event, which saw the participation of many of the best darters from South-East Asia and Asia from Friday through Sunday at the Ballroom L2, Quayside Mall at Twentyfive 7.
Locals had plenty to clap about in an event that saw darters exhibit great skill throughout the three days of competition and saw Chinese and Asian darters win the primary titles in addition to the men’s doubles title. Malaysians were in excellent form during the team event.
And after more than 60 hours of intense competition, a Malaysian team ( Shah Alam City A) made it to the final, demonstrating good elegance and fashion, and defeating Brunei’s D Amazing Borneo staff in the closing stages.
In the end, Selangor’s staff, cheered on by vocal local supporters, won the game in design, defeating the Brunei team 3-0.
Tenooth Sivalingam, the 2025 Sabah Open champion, Mohd Faizal Mohamad, Muhammad Gerald Michael, and Khamirul Noorbah were all in the Shah Alam area, led by group manager Ahmad Niezam Ahmad Noh, who had been in excellent shape since day one of the contest.
Tenooth’s final appearance in the game also came to an enjoyable conclusion. Tenooth had lost in the singles and doubles championships ‘ semi-finals in the first two weeks of competition.
” I’m really proud of the boys,” I say. All of their efforts paid off. Our commitment paid off more than a month of training before the competition, and we won the top name, according to Ahmad Niezam.
The best aspect of this victory is that all team members are native Americans and also members of MBSA ( Majlis Bandar Shah Alam ) staff. Therefore, this victory is pretty, very nice, and it also represents a win for Selangor.
Shamsuddin Zainuddin, Pg Mohamed Pg Matarsad, Abdul Qahar’ukail Shamsul Ariffin, AK Muhd Hamdi, and Masshor were the trio members of the Brunei group, according to D Amazing Borneo.
A beaming Selangor Darts Association leader C. Pathmanathan said the game came to a really happy conclusion after a local group and one from Selangor winning the group name.
” Every meet was a thrilling fight,” said one participant. It was a great game. Next year, I believe it will continue to be just as interesting if no better, said Pathmanathan.
” Selangor have big darts plans in hand. We are even starting our very own team group, in which we can pick the state side’s female players. In addition to that, we are holding tournaments geared toward women darters to find the best people people in our position.
I believe it’s also crucial that we have a great pool of players so that we can train them to perform in major competitions of the highest caliber.
Pathmanathan added that the success of the game is also attributable to the hard work of the association members as well as the strong support from the Youth and Sports Ministry, Selangor State Government, and the other major donors. Additionally, he expressed his gratitude to Quayside Mall for sponsoring the event.
I want to congratulate all of our partners, the state government, and the sports department. Their support contributed to this success. I thank all of my friends and members of the association who made great sacrifices to make this happen,” Pathmanathan said.

For the record, the Selangor Open is Malaysia’s first WDF-ranked event in 2025, which will be followed by the Cosmo Malaysia Open ( WDF silver-ranked event ) on August 22 through August 24.
Major darters from Brunei, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, and Japan were present at the game along with the best bulls-eye experts from Malaysia. Sabah and Sarawak’s team had a sizable crowd, and their competitors did well in every tournament competition.
