SINGAPORE: A total of 71 offenders have been fined since 2019 for providing illegal short- term stays in Singapore, authorities said on Wednesday ( Jul 3 ).

In response to media inquiries, HDB and the Urban Redevelopment Authority ( URA ) issued a joint reply on Wednesday, saying that 64 of them were fined for providing such stays in private properties, while the rest seven were fined for offering short-term rentals of HDB flats.

Another 15 people were charged with violating the law by allowing them to stay in private attributes for a short time.

Under the law, rent lasting less than three times for private residences and less than six times for HDB flats are prohibited. &nbsp,

Next month, CNA found more than 15 Airbnb entries in Singapore offering such short- word accommodation&nbsp, – some for two or three times.

Several of these advertisements had been engaged for times, with one having numerous reviews from previous visitors.

A few days after CNA’s statement, Airbnb removed some improper ads from its system.
