SINGAPORE: Thirty people were taken to hospital on Tuesday (Jul 30) after a suspected food poisoning incident at One Raffles Quay.
The incident occurred at the office of TikTok owner ByteDance, according to two employees of the company CNA spoke to.
In response to queries from CNA, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that it received multiple calls for medical assistance at One Raffles Quay at 3.15pm on Tuesday.
SCDF said 15 ambulances were deployed to the scene, and 30 people who experienced symptoms of abdominal pain and vomiting have been conveyed to hospitals.
“The SCDF understands from the 30 persons that they had earlier consumed food from the same source,” it said.
SCDF added that a first aid point has been set up at One Raffles Quay and it is currently assessing more individuals who are experiencing the same symptoms.
The incident is still ongoing.
CNA has reached out to ByteDance and the authorities for comment.
