Officials in Yala have named southern rebels as the cause of a Wednesday roads bombing accident that left two military engineers hurt.
A fleet of five automobiles carrying 21 soldiers was passing along Kotortuera community in Raman district at around 5pm when the bomb detonated on a nearby road. After dredging a river in another village, they were returning to their center.
Two army engineers were hurt when the second car was struck by the explosion, which caused the other vehicle to be hit. Sgt. Maj. First Class Jamorn Channiyom suffered ringing lips, and Sgt. Phanuphong Phanchan suffered eye injuries and stomach discomfort. They were taken to Raman Hospital in an ambulance.
